Sounds like you may have received the Gamo Illiteracy Special by mistake. They come with a special attachment that lowers your IQ to that of a banana slug (or about on par with Joe the Boxing Prow)

The only Gamo rifle with a more powerful powerplant than yours is the Hunter Extreme series(including the Socom Extreme and 1250)

Currently Gamo rifles are available in two basic powerplants. The one which most of their rifles use, delivers around 15ft-lbs of muzzle energy, the other around 20ft-lbs.

15ft-lbs = around 900fps with an 8.3gr pellet

20ft-lbs = around 900fps with an 11.1gr pellet

15ft-lb - Include the Big Cat, Hornet, Whisper, Stalker, Bone Collector

20ft-lb - Varmint Hunter HP and variants(like your Bull Whisper Extreme)

Gamo Hunter Extreme SE .177 - The rifle "Space Cowboy" mentioned is their most powerful. It delivers around 24ft-lbs. This rifle is WAY over priced. It would take considerable explanation, but for a number of reasons. I do not recommend this rifle. If you're going to spend $440 on a springer, get an RWS 350 Magnum in .22 caliber, it's five times the rifle

I liked this rifle better at $183, but it has been very popular for good reason, so the price has gone up. Generally the more "gimmicky" the name Gamo gives a rifle the more overpriced it is. That's not the case with this rifle, you do actually get a lot of rifle for your $$

Gamo CFX - was at one time their best(IMO) and most accurate rifle. It was nearly the overall equal of an RWS 34. Unfortunately Gamo cannot leave well enough alone. The CFX(which you can still find on the second hand market if you're interested) has now morphed into the CFR Whisper(add $70 for the name change). It's still a good, accurate rifle, you just get to pay extra for it now.

Well..."Joe"...our resident "pro", swears by the Gamo Extreme Hunter in 177 cal. ( we simply swear AT him...lol ) He's presently in Florida hunting alligators with it and is unavailable at this time.
