I have a predominantly white costume.. with blue, red, and brown colors on different parts of it. How can I change the white cloth to grey?

without affecting the other colors. I know dying probably wont work cause the other colors. so how can I do it?

It is a robe from an assassins creed costume if your wondering.

I don't think you can ~ easily. You can try painting the white parts with grey fabric paint. Spread the robe out and carefully paint the parts you want grey. I'd test it on a scrap of fabric first to be sure you get the effects you want, that is, it's the right color, doesn't bleed and dries the way you want. It might be necessary to dilute the paint a bit. Please remember to put a barrier {cardboard, waxed paper, aluminum foil, etc.} between the layers of the robe.

I'd recommend using a spray dye. This is a link from Hobby Lobby's online store, but I'm sure there are other brands and types: http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/sargent-art-ve...

Tape off the other colors using masking, they lightly spray the dye, I've used it and it's actually pretty dry as it goes on. I'm sure you'll have to mix the gray yourself using black and white, but it would be worth it.

    Best of luck.
