Because it's enough for their star player. They don't want to exhaust his muscles and therefore risk injury at the end of a pretty pointless game. Both teams are in for the next round anyway.

Well, here in Argentina the explanation was that Pep Guardiola gave that advice to Sabella, our coach, to not stress Messi.

Because Argentina doesn't want those dirty n.i.g.g.ers to hurt him so that he can play next week.
