Multiple sources do say they sleep in separate bedrooms. this goes along with them traveling on separate planes if they happen to be going to the same vacation spot. It also explains why they always manage to take separate vacations as well.

Bummer is a MUSLIM, and it is wrong for him under Sharia Law to take the Mrs. along to meet other heads of state. Bush did this often (take the Mrs. along), and the public loved it. JFK was the best at taking the Mrs along.
