My dell laptop's screen went to blob. So how do I change the screen, I found a few screens on Amazon, so the parts are available, but I am worried more about the hinges and all that. How do I change the Screen. It is a Dell D620

You first need to get the exact screen that your Dell latitude D620 needs.. See at link below:

Then here is a video that shows you step by step how to remove the damaged screen and install the new one.

If an external monitor works when connected - you need a new screen. If it doesn't work, the graphics card may have gone out.
Fastest & easiest way to get it working (and possibly about the same price as a new monitor) is to buy a used D620 without a hard drive and with the same operating system sticker on it from eBay. Slide the existing hard drive into the new laptop, change the operating system activation code to the one on the sticker on the base of the "new" laptop, and (if your old one has more RAM) swap out the RAM to the replacement laptop. Reboot, make sure the OS shows as activated - and you should be good to go.
Or pull the top off the replacement laptop and swap it onto the older laptop and you'll have less to take apart to get the same repair done.

Hey, also check Ebay. That's where I've gotten lots of parts for my own Dell laptops. It's not that hard, just detailed. Lots of people on YouTube have made little videos about changing things out, so you can find plenty of them, like Techno has conveniently provided.
The D620 is pretty good machine. I have a few of the D630's myself.
