Can anyone help me to work out this average?
I need to work out what my grades are. Basically I get 4 marks for the year and they have to be averaged out to get my final mark which can be translated into the grade. I can do that basic average, but I get confused when it comes to credits. Two of my sets of marks are worth 40 credits, whereas the other two are worth only 20. Look:
Mark: 56 (credit 40)
Mark: 54 (credit 20)
Mark: 69 (credit 40)
Mark: 61 (credit 20)
So the marks which are 56 and 69 are worth more than the other two, right? I'm so confused, can someone help me work this out to find the average mark?
Thanks so much.

56/100 = X/40
Solve for x: 100x = 56*40, so x=56*40/100.
x is your mark out of 40.
Do that for the other three marks, and add up all the x's you get. That's your final mark.
And no, I'm not doing that for you. Learn to do basic algebra yourself.
