  • Close your eyes, and with what you're experiencing with your other senses, where could you pretend you currently are?

I'm lying in bed sick, but if I close my eyes I cam hear the wind blowing my curtains and through the trees, so I could be in a tent camping in a forest.

  • Bleeding for a month - how long does it take for the copper IUD to settle?

I got my copper IUD in early December last year, as I didn't want to use hormonal contraceptive. The first couple of months were painful and I experienced heavy bleeding, but that subsided and seemed fine for a while, but the past two months have brought me bleeding at random times, and for the past 3 weeks I've had a constant, albeit quite light, flow of blood. It's so annoying, and ruined some of my clothes!

The main question I want to ask is - is this normal for the copper IUD, and is it likely to subside soon? I'd have thought that after 9 months it'd be back to normal cycle, which is naturally pretty regular and manageable.

  • On a mac, how can I force eject a disc from my external disc drive if it hasn't been recognised?

I put a scratched disc into my MacBook's USB connected external disc drive and it won't acknowledge that anythings in it, and so theres no option to eject anything on my computer. I've tried everything that the internet has suggested but it's still in there, not cooperating.

I need the disc to come out because I have to use the drive for something else soon, any input would be helpful, thanks!

  • Can anyone help me to work out this average?

I need to work out what my grades are. Basically I get 4 marks for the year and they have to be averaged out to get my final mark which can be translated into the grade. I can do that basic average, but I get confused when it comes to credits. Two of my sets of marks are worth 40 credits, whereas the other two are worth only 20. Look:

    Mark: 56 (credit 40)

    Mark: 54 (credit 20)

    Mark: 69 (credit 40)

    Mark: 61 (credit 20)

So the marks which are 56 and 69 are worth more than the other two, right? I'm so confused, can someone help me work this out to find the average mark?

    Thanks so much.

  • Does this count as rape?

When I was 19 I had a boyfriend who was bipolar and during his depressive streaks it would be very difficult to be around him. He would create such a dark environment and would want to be by himself, so whenever he was like that I would just leave him alone until he came back up and would be happy again. During this time my own wellbeing suffered as I would worry about him constantly.

But one time I went to visit him at his parents house in a different city for a few days, where I stayed in his bedroom with him. During this time he got pretty low, and there was only so much I could do to not be around him like he wanted, as I had nowhere to go. One afternoon we were watching a film in bed (in an attempt to keep his mind of his depression), and he got angry at me because I let something slip about the ending. He demanded we turn off the film as there was no point in watching it now.

Feeling helpless at how to help him when he felt like this, and also trying to explain that the film wasn't ruined (the information I gave him wasn't important to the storyline), whilst also trying to be sensitive to his frame of mind, I did as he said and closed the laptop.

I remember this bit really well, as I think I must have thought back to it a lot. As I leaned out of the bed to put the laptop back on the floor, he turned in bed and penetrated me from behind. I was still half out of bed and definitely wasn't in the mood to have sex at that time, feeling guilty and confused at his sudden anger at me. I looked back at him, and didn't try and get him to stop, because I felt like I couldn't. I turned my head back round and looked at the floor and let him continue. I remember feeling like I wanted to cry during this, and knowing that shouldn't be how sex with my boyfriend should feel, but I told myself that I couldn't cry as that would upset him.

I always knew that what happened wasn't right, and that I should have told him to stop. But I recently learned that rape is defined as any sex where the person who didn't instigate it doesn't want it to happen. I am not going to start saying I was raped, but I'd like to know for my own sense of self if what happened was as bad as I felt it was.

    Thanks for any help.

  • Should I buy the guy I'm seeing a 'funny' or a 'serious' present for Christmas?

I'm in my second year of university and have just come back home for Christmas. In uni, I've been seeing a guy for just over 7 weeks, we really like each other and are exclusive but we aren't boyfriend and girlfriend yet. Before I left to come home, we exchanged christmas presents.

We're both art students, and I had ordered him an art book focussing on an artist we both love. But it hadn't arrived in the post by the time I left, so I've told him I'll give him my present upon our return in January. His gift for me had arrived, however. He'd gotten me a Cheeky Bum Onesie ( http://www.asos.com/South-Beach/South-Beach-Madiso... ).

I think he didn't feel like he knew me well enough yet to buy me something that he knew I'd love so he just got me a silly present that we could laugh at. But I feel a bit self conscious of the present I've gotten him now. Should I buy him a funnier present before I go back to university, and pretend that I'd never bought him an art book? I don't want him to think I'd boring or serious or something..

    What shall I do?

  • Is this charger / power lead compatible with a regular macbook?

This is the charger that I want to buy as it's cheaper than the other ones I've looked at:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AC-Power-Adapter-Charger...

However it says it's for a Macbook Air. I just have a normal macbook (not a macbook pro, the one before that). Would this cable work for me?

Thankyou, I kind of suck at technology stuff.

  • ANYONE GOOD AT MATHS simple question, I can't work it out?

Basically I am on accutane, and picked up my prescription today and I think they have given me the wrong amount of the drug. Can anyone help me by working it out? I am just blinded by these numbers:

I need to be on 50mg of accutane for 6 weeks. That's 50mg daily. So I need 50mg each day for 45 days.

    I was given

2 boxes of 10mg accutane, each containing 30 tablets

3 boxes of 20mg accutane, each containing 30 tablets

I am to dose myself, ie it's my job to make sure I take 2 x 20mg tablets and 1 x 10mg tablet each today to receive 50mg in total daily.

I think I should have been given one more box of 20mg tablets for my dosage to work, but I can't make sense of it. Will someone please work this out before I call the pharmacy?

    Thanks so much!

  • How can I preserve my tan?

I've just got back from my holiday/vacation and my skin is a lovely golden brown colour. Is there a way for me to keep this skin tone for longer, instead of it just fading away back to pale in about a week?

    Thanks for any help!

  • What's the name of this song? Video includes a lot of hair, dancers covered in long hair?

It's a bit of a mental music video, people singing in the video have flashes where the hair from their head gets transplanted onto their faces, leaving the backs of their heads bald. Then there's a scene where a man and woman dance in a room, the man has dark curly hair and the woman has long straight blonde hair, and as they dance the hair from their heads instead covers all of their bodies leaving the backs of their heads bald. And also a scene called 'ginger' where a read headed woman lounges on a hairy ginger chair.

Dead weird, I wanted to show my friend but I've forgotten the name of the band/song. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

    Thanks for any info!

  • What names would you give to seven siblings?

    1. Pick a last name by selecting which month you were born in.

    December or January → Ibáñez

    February or March → Appleby

    April or May → Beaumont

    June or July → Vicario

    August or September → Bowen

    October or November → Winters

    2. Pick the names of the seven siblings from the lists below. You have free reign over which genders you'd like to have. Just to shake things up a bit, none of the children's first names should start with the same letter as each other (middles don't fall under this protocol), or the same letter as their surname. Here are the names to choose from:

    Girls Names

Madeleine, Aurora, Orchid, Annabel, Lilla, Tabitha, Helène, Claudia, Saffron, Opal, Isis, Tamara, Bella, May, Rosa, Sally, Thelma, Wanda, Beatrice, Iris, Topaz, Ursula, Lily, Helena, June, Clara, Rose, Isla, Zoë, Daisy, Esther, Phoebe, Jasmine, Violet, Summer, Ariel, Eva, Cleo, Flora, Iola, Juniper, Desirée, Lavender, Sailor, Autumn, Heather, Tiffany, Elspeth, Courtney, Addison, Monica, Veronica, Clementine, Francesca, Lola, Quinn, Fauna, Lucille, India, Rowen, Delilah, Millicent, Eve, Ione, Cosmia, Augusta, Velma

    Boys Names

Henry, Oscar, Pedro, Tobias, Axel, Hamish, Sebastian, Desmond, Isaac, Luca, Julian, Roald, Damian, Judah, Benji, Dexter, Lucas, Gabriel, Jacob, Timothy, Dorian, Fergus, Charlie, Wyatt, Duncan, Blaize, Adrian, Quentin, Dylan, Archer, Elijah, Archie, Preston, Finley, Caleb, Alfie, Orion, Blake, Avery, Ezra, Casper, August, Leo, Todd, Zion, Atticus, Florian, Clay, Lance, Bobby, Skye, Angus, Fabian, Cosmo, Billy, Klaus, Sol, Jens, Zachary, Louis, Pablo, Isaiah, Moses, Ulysses, Kit, Austin, Piers, Weylond, Elliot

    Have fun!

BQ What nicknames would you use, if any?

  • What would you name six children from this list?

Just a few names I either like or find interesting. See what you can match together as firsts and middles, and maybe second middles :)

You should choose the number of each gender within the six by assigning a girl to each vowel in your first name, and leaving the rest to boys. Eg if my name were Lily I would make names for 1 girl and 5 boys. Make sense? Haaave fun!

    Boy Names

Jacob, Isaac, Adrian, Jasper, Quentin, Forest, Lucas, Dylan, Flynn, Holden, Jonah, Aspen, Douglas, Boris, Francis, Paulo, Issiah, Jeremiah, Ezra, Augustus, Finn, Luca, Judah, Pedro, Archer, James, Oscar, River, Sol, Rowan, Timothy, Zachariah, Florian, Jack, Pierce, Brendan, Oleander, Tom, Duncan, Pablo, Glenn, Clifford, Elvis, Maxus, Alfie, Otto, Ralph, Benjamin, Elliot, Joseph, Padhraic, Tobias, Archie, Felix, Barnaby

    Girl Names

Ariana, Gwyneth, Brooke, Quinn, Amber, Brittany, Felicity, Opal, Asia, Lola, Ruby, Martha, Sophia, Topaz, Daphne, Luna, Bunty, India, Penelope, Marina, Hera, Maya, June, Arcadia, Petra, Delilah, Athena, Rosa, Minnie, Harper, Miranda, Iris, Saphire, Aurora, Isis, Beatrice, Mia, Isla, Courtney, Lily, Avery, Virginia, Sienna, Lilla, Poppy, Lucinda, Chloe, Belle, Amélie, Cleo, Ava, Juniper, April, Océane, Cleopatra, Helena, Claudia, Maya, Ariel, Clementine, Eva, Clara, Zara, Pearl, Jasmine, Eve, Daisy

  • I just cut my finger with a dirty old stanley knife blade, can I treat it on my own?

I just gashed my finger quite deeply with a blade that tend to use for sharpening pencils, oil pastels, as well as cutting through tin cans etc (I'm an artist). It's not very clean visually, but I don't know if it's got bastieria or infection on it. Anyway the cut was bleeding a lot, I've cleaned it and put teatree oil on it and now its got a band aid on it too, the bleeding has subsided more or less completely now i think. The cut had swollen a little bit and looked bruised sort of. Do you think I should go to a doctor or will it just heal by itself now?

    Thanks for any adivce!

  • Can I use the word 'antithesize' in my essay, even though it's not technically a word?

Antithesis is a word, and I want to say, makes something the antithesis of.

Here's the sentence that I've written:

'The artist has cleverly rendered the traditional passive female antithesised, and not only is the male now passive instead but the viewer is forced to acknowledge the active female also'.

I know you probably won't understnad that sentence as it is so out of context, but would I get marked down for saying antithesized? It's for an art essay, not english literature or anything, where I know it definitely would matter.

If I can't use it, can you think of a word that I could use instead that would work? Thanks so much.

  • Ireggular Periods? Is there something wrong with me?

I started my periods when I was 12 and they never regulrised. When I asked my doctor about it when I was about 16 they said that it was probably just because I was young, even though I'd been having them for 4 years. I went on the pill when I was 17 for 2 years, during which time my periods were regular because I was controlling them with the pill. Now I am 20 and on no birth control, I have been off the pill for almost 5 months, and I have had 2 periods in this time. I currently haven't had a period for 10 weeks. There is no way that I am pregnant. Before I went on the pill my doctor tested me for PCOS and found that I didn't have it.

What shall I do? I don't really mind having irregular periods, it doesn't matter that much to me, but could I have an underlying problem which could affect my health or fertility for later in life? Is it possible for me to just have irregular periods but be completely healthy at the same time? I'm worried.

  • Is insomnia a side effect of roaccutane / isotretinoin?

Is insomnia a side effect of roaccutane / isotretinoin?

I started taking roaccutane for my acne about a week ago. As you cannot drink alcohol whilst on this medication, when all my friends wanted to go to the pub, I came along but just had a coffee instead of a pint. I then also had a small coca cola. Upon returning to my bed to go to sleep (as I felt very tired) at about 12am, I found that I was having trouble sleeping. I have since not been able to sleep until 4am, and that was such a light sleep that the birds which had begun singing outside kept me from sleeping any further.

It's now nearly 7am and I have had about half an hours sleep all night. This is not normal activity for me at all, the caffeine that I've had in the evening would never have normally affected me like this. Do you think the roaccutane I'm taking has something to do with it?

Thanks for any input! I'm freaking out a little over here...
