Do you judge children by the names their parents gave them?

Assume personality traits, backgrounds, and intelligence from their moniker?

What do you think of the way that woman in this video goes about things? Katie Hopkins : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edZjdgU0asM

Omg I hate that woman! (Katie Hopkins) such a stuck up snob! And no I don't judge people on their names nor do I care what their names are, a name doesn't affect the persons personality or how they behave and treat other people. Katie would be surprised how many 'Charmaines and Chardonnays' are actually really kind kids and can grow up to be successful people, a name doesn't stop you from being successful.

If my child came home and asked if 'Chardonnay' could come round I wouldn't give a second thought about whether they could come over or not JUST because of their name. I mean sure I might think 'I don't like that name' because in all honesty I don't like the name but that doesn't mean that 'Chardonnay' is a naughty horrible person. Meet people and get to know them properly!

I hope her kids grow up to be covered in tattoo's, piercings and have kids named Tyler, Charmaine and Chardonnay. That would piss her off so much hahahahahaha

No! I was tormented for years for my name and eventually changed it. It was a horrible name and often got the reaction "what kind of freak is called that? Especially spelled like that, you're a weirdo" and other such comments. "What kind of freak is called (name)?" was something I heard almost daily. But I myself hated the name! I knew it sounded ugly and the spelling is ridiculous, I didn't choose it and resented my mother from 4 years of age for burdening me with it. As a little kid I'd give made up names or names of girls in my kindergarten class or even our dog's name as I knew it was a strange name and hated the sound of it. So why judge me on it? A name I've despised since I could feel hatred shouldn't be a reflection of who I am or how to treat me.

If my kid comes home and says "mum, Bonquiqui wants to come for dinner," my reaction would be the same as to "mum, can Rose come over?" - yes of course, what does she like to eat? What time will you guys be here? Once I meet Bonquiqui then I'll decide whether or not she's a good influence on my child. Of course I might think oh for heavens sake who gave the poor girl a name like that, but that's judging the name not the person.

I find Katie Hopkins ridiculous - "I hate geographical names... Yes my kid is named India but that's not a location." Stupid cow! I hope India brings home a perfectly nice boy one day and says "this is my boyfriend Tyler," and her son brings home a slag named Illiana.

Absolutely not. I might judge the parents for choosing the name if it's too "out there". I also don't assume intelligence or personality traits from names. Backgrounds are kind of set in stone. You can't really change where you came from.

Judging a person based on their name is totally irresponsible and immature.
