LDS: For God's purposes, are you recorded as the sex you are born or the one you assume?

My relative bore a son some years ago- but now the province in which she resides has reissued his birth certificate to reflect a female gender. When she and her family were sealed, all three of her children were recorded as male. So, now does the Church(and the Temple) have to change their records?

Those who change their sex identification in this life will have a rude awakening when they die and realize they are still the same gender to which they were born.

God knows who you are and what we do here on earth won't change what He gave you to begin with. If you were born male, you will die male. If you were born female, you will die female.

For those who suffer genetic mutations and whose chromosomes are not what they should be, xxy, xyy, xxx, etc., then I don't know what to tell you. God will sort out our biological mistakes and imperfections. In the resurrection, our bodies will be restored to their proper and perfect form. That much has been promised. Thus, any physical imperfection will be corrected. In that, we have to trust in God, there is nothing we can do about it.

Spirits have gender, and a change in one's birth certificate won't really address that.

You have confused sex and gender.

Sex is what you were born biologically, male or female.

Gender is the socially constructed norms pertaining to each sex.

Damn this question. Every time I read it "LSD" and I get excited until I realize it's about red tape logistics of God's filing system.
