Yes, the defender clearly stepped on his foot, that's a penalty under today's rules.

It was a naive foul, and like any athlete, Robben 'sold it', but it was a clear violation of the rule = penalty.

Here's the thing, was it a foul? Probably. That being said, it was also a foul about 50% of refs would have chosen not to call. You have two teams in the last couple 2 minutes of a World Cup qualifier, and you just don't sway the game one way or another with a chancey call....it's usually just not done on a foul that wasnt belligerent and the over drama flopping didnt help either. Nobody was bleeding, so the ref should have let the teams duke it out and best one wins....that's not what happened.

YES definitely. Robben made the most of it...but check the footage. Anyone can see the Mexican stomping on Robben's foot, which is a penalty. Mexico got sloppy and paid the price.
