Auto Insurance for a 17 year old male with a sports car in Pennsylvania?

Okay, I have been curious about auto insurance for me and how much it would cost if I get a decent sports car at a reasonable cost. I am wondering how much a month it would be if I would get a 80s-90s Chevy Camaro or Corvette (350 small block V8 in the Vette or a V6 Camaro). Thanks for any input.

First off, until you are of age, you cannot get insurance on a vehicle. Minors cannot enter into a contract, and being 17 years old makes you a minor, and an insurance policy is a contract. Now, to find out what the cost will be you would need to contact an insurance agent and give the agent all the info that is needed to arrive at a price. I can tell you that full coverage insurance for a male teenager with a sports car will be very, very expensive. The costs vary from area to area. For instance, if you live in a large city, your rates will be more because the chances of an accident is much greater than if you were living in the middle of Kansas where there are fewer people living and driving. The farther you drive like to work the more the cost will be, and there are several other factors that is considered in coming up with rates. You could go with what is called liability only insurance which is much cheaper rates, however, if you are involved in an accident, the liability insurance will only pay for the other person's vehicle, and will not pay anything to you to get yours repaired. Liability insurance is a gamble you hope you never have to use. When you contact an agent, you might consider a local agent who is an independent agent. These agents broker with several different agents and can usually find the cheapest rates. Just look in your local phone book for an independent insurance agent.

Your best option is to compare car insurance rates online from carriers in your area. You can do this for free at a site like: QuoteAgents.com

Your only option at your age is being added to your parents policy, and only phone call will give you an exact amount. Be sitting down when they tell you. 17 + sports car = high risk and high premium.

Whatever amount an insurance agent quotes you. Insurance pricing is very individualized.

There is only one accurate way to find out and it's not asking on Yahoo.

You need to contact your insurance agent/broker and ask him or her. An alternative is to shop online but contacting an agent or broker directly usually gives you more accurate quotes.
