I lost Windows 8 when resetting my computer?
I recently bought a used laptop from a friend because he couldn't use it. The problem is, it had so many useless apps and programs on it that it was barely functioning. I decided to do a factory reset on it and start over.
Well, I didn't realize I would wipe off Windows 8 as well. Can I reinstall it for free or will I need to buy it?
The laptop already had Win8 on it when he bought it from the store. It didn't come with a disc.

Hi,
I currently have a Toshiba, when I bought it, it came with Windows 8 Preinstalled. So when you factory reset, it shouldnt remove it. (I have factory reset alot, and never lost it)

Never do factory resets on laptops. Uninstall stuff one at a time just like we used to. Only phones, tablets can really handle a reset. You can attempt to contact the manufacturer for a replacement disc. Worst case just have a local PC store do an install. Roughly $120. Hope it gets better. Best luck.

Nope, of course you don't have to pay for it. Welcome to the internet. Go to your other PC (or just go to some friend and download) Windows 8: http://bit.ly/1pMFCCj
Make it bootable using UNetBootIn: http://bit.ly/1lDrsuQ
And just install it. from USB
