Well it really depends on what carrier you have. Most carriers have a connections optimizer where it will toggle mobile data/ wifi on and off depending on network strength. Now all this means is if you're on Wi-Fi and it toggles itself off it would suggest that your mobile data network is much stronger at that time and therefore it takes over. Most of the time you can turn this feature off in settings. Therefore saving you the hassle of having to switch Wi-Fi back on, and it drastically saves battery life as well. I hope this helps!!
