More help with roses? (Blue boy & perfume delight)?

I guess while I'm at it I'll ask a few more questions regarding my other roses:

First off my blue boy: Seems to be going pretty good, however it seems to be growing UP too much, how can I get it to be bushier? (It stands maybe...2 1/2 feet tall) There is also one cane growing straight down (the bush has a big fat graft bulge that most of the branches have come out at a sideways angle, there's one that's looking to poke into the soil, should I cut this? Will it..."root"??

Second is my Perfume Delight: I don't know if it really IS a perfume delight, all pictures I can find of perfume delights depict a somewhat deep pink coloring, mine is bright barbie pink & ends up with an almost orange tint when I try to take pictures. This isn't really a problem, I love the color, but I'd like to know what it might possibly be if it's not a perfume delight...This is also another one that I'm worried about growing straight up rather than being bushier...

I have 2 other roses that I bought fairly late, so far they each have a single, short green branch (& each is in the process of developing it's first bud), I'm worried they won't be established in time for winter...is the single branch a sign that something is wrong & can I do anything to get them to sprout more?

So far ALL of my roses are in pots, huge pots I might add so - yes, they have plenty of root room. They're also all recovering from a tiny infestation of saw fly larvas, which I treated with thumb-over-the-end-of-the-hose

Update:

power sprays, & clipping away affected/eaten leaves.

I'm not sure if your Blue Boy is a shrub or hybrid tea? The cane growing down should be pruned off. Aside from the shrub-type, roses are happiest pruned into a vase shape with no canes in the middle (good air circulation). But this time of year I would not do any hard pruning, because they need their leaves to store food to get through winter. I would plant the potted roses. Their roots would be more protected and mulch heavily. You can use straw & burlap on the canes if you're worried about the freezing cold.

You can try pruning back the downward growing cane to a bud that faces upward and see ifit will straighten out. When the buish is dormant in the winter you will need to prune it. Remove one or two of the straight upward growing canes and open up the center cut all canes to just above outward growing buds. Search: pruning roses (in your state).

As for your Perfiume Delight it is not easy to identify a lot roses to varity. JUst enjoy it. It really doesnt mater what variity it is unless you try to enter it in a rose show. If you wnat some more advice see if you can find a rose club in your area and go to a few meetings. You can get a lot of good advice from other rose enthuisists.
