Why can't I regain my top contributor?

I lost my top contributor status when yahoo removed public voting and my best answer rating dropped from 50 to 45. i have kept up my answering and even reached level 7 yet I still do not have my top contributor rating again. is there something keeping me back? I just saw someone with 17% best answer rating with top contributor and was wondering why I had not gotten mine back yet.

It is not just the raw percentage that matters. The number of best answers and percentage must be high in a specific category. I used to always have 3 categories. I am now down to one. "Yahoo Answers"

All you can do is concentrate on the level  where you once held the designation however it would seem the percentage of BA to answers can vary from category to category with no real rhyme or reason, only YA knows for sure and they ain't telling.  Good luck.

Nothing you can do really as many people don't even bother resolving their Qs these days.I lost all 3 of my TCs with the new format as those who most frequently awarded me BAs left YA in disgust after the purple format was introduced.Hard work & long service don't seem to mean much here anymore.

One reason may be all the questions in which no best answer was chosen.Other's say I have a badge,but my profile or  on here
I do not see it.Another issue may be a Yahoo glitch.
continue answering as before and it should reappear.

EDIT:  Appeals do work.   My answer was deleted and restored today when I appealed.  Only took 6 hours turn around time.

The trick seems to be to concentrate on one or two categories - and make sure you answer plenty of questions in them.
