Any good comedy anime that aren't mainstream?

First thing's first: I'm not looking for hipster anime, just something that hasn't been shoved in everyone's face and suggested countless times.

I finally caught up on my collection, and I realized that I don't have many good comedies. I had a lot of comedies, sure, but most of them were... trying too hard or were harems disguised as a comedy. I'm not hoping for a lot here, I'll probably hear a lot of the same stuff (Ouran, Cromartie, Baka to Test*, Nichijou just to name a few) but it would be nice to hear about something that I haven't watched or even heard of before.

*The first season of this show was insane, second disappointed me a bit.

to Search first before you ask it, I've seen all of those series in full. A while back actually. I think I've seen just about all of the anime posted. Nisekoi seems somewhat entertaining as does Inu to hasami wa tsukaiyou. Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Update 2:

Ka-ka-ka-ka-oh no! Yes, Metalocalpyse is funny, but not quite what I'm searching for.

    Metalocalypse

    not really an anime per se, but it's as close as an american show will get, and it's damn hilarious you have even a slightly dark sense of humor, and/or like metal.

    Try:

    "Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt" (English Funimation dub a MUST)

    "Kill la Kill"

    "FLCL"

    These three are from the same staff, and they have quite the sense of humor.

    Also:

    "Desert Punk"

    "GTO Great Teacher Onizuka" (well written comedy-drama)

    "Excel Saga"

    "Trigun"

    GINTAMA THE FUNNIEST ANIME I SAW IN MY WHOLE ENTIRE ANIME LIFE!! The whole anime is comedy
