Palestine vs Israel? background information?

Palestine became a British colony some 100 years ago. The British soon declared that some of it's lands would go to a new Jewish nation state. There had been talk of doing this for a while in Europe, as a lot of opinion toward Jews at the time was that they cannot coexist with other Europeans.

Zionists agreed with this, and a small amount of Jews started moving from Europe to take advantage of the newly declared homeland. But it didn't really take off until after ww2 and the horrors of the holocaust. At which point the British left and Israel was formed. The problem is that the rules of Israeli citizenship openly discriminate against anyone who isn't Jewish, so Palestinians who weren't Jewish but rather Muslims or Christians don't have equal rights.

Since then, Israel has gradually expanded its borders and displaced millions of the Palestinians who used to live there into refugee camps in Gaza and the West Bank. These Palestinians are angry about this and there are periodic conflicts between the two.

Jewish Israelis claim it is their ancestral land, so they have more right to be there than the Palestinians. Palestinians insist it is there home, and they don't have anywhere else to go.

It is about religion. The radical Muslim in Palestine want to kill all who will not convert to their faith. The Jewish people have lived in Israel since God gave the land to them.It is their land. It is the land of the Lord God's birth. It is not the land of other people. Though history has changed some of that law religion is ingrained and traditions continue. Jesus said render to Ceasar the things that are his and to God that which is His. Israel is His.

Much of Israel has been the jewel of the Middle East-----for all sides-----for Millennia. It has been invaded, conquered, and lost many, many times.
