Baking Soda and Braces?
I've heard that if you use baking soda with braces you can remove stains. Is this true and please if it does or doesn't tell me why and personal experiences. Thanks in advance

You're not supposed to use any whitening products with braces, and baking soda is quite abrasive. Consult your orthodontist about it. it could be that you just need a regular cleaning.

It will whiten your teeth with or without braces. I have used it for awhile and it works, but it's like most things where you will have to use it for awhile before it starts working. You will get past the taste soon.

Baking soda is indeed a great stain-remover and has been known to whiten teeth. There are many teeth-whitening toothpastes out right now that include baking soda in their mixture.
I had braces for a very long time, and I'm about to get them again soon (my teeth unexpectedly shifted back). Generally the dentist will give you a good cleaning before you get the braces on; HOWEVER, if you didn't already have nice white teeth before you had braces, trying to whiten them now ( or remove stains ) will likely leave you with a large off-colored spots where the braces were when they come off, since the baking soda can't reach directly under the braces.
Likewise though, if you had really white teeth beforehand and you allow your teeth to become stained while the braces are on, then you'll be left with a big white spot in the middle of each tooth.
So yes, baking soda will remove stains, but use with caution while wearing braces since it can make your teeth two-toned once those braces are off.
