Why do cons think we need the largest military on earth to be the most powerful?

We don't, we think we should pay the military more for their service and get all of our homeless veterans some homes.

Border patrol, and guards. Security is good in a moderate amount, that's our best defense. In every port. Better safe than sorry. Only people can do that.

Maybe conservatives are a little less keen on throwing the biggest bomb we can at the enemy. Perhaps they worry about the risk to innocent life. If it was just about being able to "blow the hell out of anyone" we'd still be using atomic bombs.

You obviously aren't familiar with how the military operates.
