Why didn't George Washington secure the Mexican border when he was POTUS?

He might has had a Congress that said, Not this year. Should have made English the official language also.. Then we wouldn't have to press 1 for English.

As POTUS he saw the border on the Appalachian mountains that is far away from Mexico with a huge tract of (French) Louisiana territory intervening. He couldn't secure even Florida from the Spanish.

Just imagine ! How much can one expect from even a great man in his life time?

Because when George Washington was president, the USA didn't even have a border with Mexico. It had a border with Spanish Louisiana and with Spanish Florida - and if that border had been "secured" the USA would have never moved west of the Mississippi, nor would it have reached the Gulf of Mexico.

Blame Jefferson. He bought Luisiana/Louisiane.

During his time the Mexicans secured the boarder from illegal American aliens.

There was no mexican border back then. We only had the 13 eastern states. Also mexico didn't even exist, it was a colony of spain.

George had his hands full securing the Virginia border.
