NORMAL? 2004 volvo s60 5 cylinder turbo can't accelerate uphill on freeway?
I'm looking at a 2004 Volvo and it seemed to shift find at slow speeds. When I got it on the freeway, it seemed to studder slightly up hill. Also, at 70 mph uphill, it would accelerate with pedal floored. Tried at 80 mph with same results. Is this normal for volvos?

Nope, not normal at all.
Do you feel the turbo "kicking in?"
The problem you describe usually comes from spark plug misfire while under load. I'm not sure why, but the system is under a heavier load at a slow steady speed uphill than wide a$$ open.
It is also possible that over the years you have had a leaky valve cover, or spilled enough oil that the COPs are sitting in puddles of oil. It's probably time to change spark plugs, and check/clean/ or replace the COP boots (Coil Over Plugs); http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=28...
