Growing Sprouts In A Jar?
This is my second attempt, this time using chick peas. The first time was a complete failure. Are they supposed to have some type of foam at the top? And be kind of stinky?

NO. That means they spoiled. What sort of chick peas did you use? If you tried this using canned chick peas, it's no wonder they spoiled--canned chick peas are COOKED and will not sprout. If you tried it using a packet of seeds from a garden store, they were treated with a chemical prior to packaging---and are not safe to use to sprout in a jar. Chick peas don't sprout easily. Since they're not a readily sprouting vegetable, you should probably try something else to sprout. And any time you try sprouting in a jar, you need to use seeds that are not treated or cooked.
