Bank of America robbery in California?

Found actual footage and a movie recreation on Youtube. Two guys with automatic rifles rob a Bank of America in California. The two guys are going into the bank, a local two-man police car drives by, sees the two guys going IN, turns their car around, and parks in the parking lot right in front of the front door of the bank. When the two guys come OUT of the bank, they see the police car and the two officers outside of the police car, and this ends up into a 45 minute shoot out with a lot of cops and the two robbers.

I was wondering why not do this? Park around the corner of the bank entrance. The two bad guys would come out and NOT see any police any where, then you could point at, shoot if you have to, while using the building corner as protection.

that incident led Law enforcement to conclude Criminals were getting worse and using heavier weapons and body armor which the police were not equipped to handle

wile 2 head shots would have ended the incident quickly none of the responding units had a rifle or the expertise to use it effectively

try it today and you would be shot dead within minutes

You are speaking of the North Hollywood shootout in 1997. 20-20 hindsight is wonderful, isn't it. That kind of thing had never happened before in decades the police just were not prepared. Don't forget that the guys where wearing full body armor and they were hit sever times with handgun rounds that did nothing. Some even went into a nearby gun shop to purchase some AR-15s.

Since that time major police forces have upgraded their firearms and training.

The police follow procedures that they have been trained to follow. This is real life, not the movies.
