How to keep my GSD happy?
I have a 5yr old GSD. I have recently been injured and I am unable to get out. My girl seems very sad, mopey and depressed. My friends have tried walking her but she is too strong and is naughty with them and often won't leave without me. Any ideas of what I can do with her at home. I can only kind of shuffle around. In her boredom, she has become food obsessed although she's not overweight and sleeps a lot.
She is trained but has never walked with anyone but me.
I live around a lot of hills, so the wheelchair idea might not work thanks guys.
I love any ideas for around the home.

You probably could get a cheap wheelchair from the thrift store to allow you mobility outside the house. A friend could take the dog along with you, if that would mean the dog is going to obey.
If you have a dog daycare where you dropped off the dog in the past, this would be a place to have the dog play with other dogs.
You might have to pay for a professional trainer to work with the dog if the main problem is that the dog is poorly trained and is naughty also with you.
However you could play nose games with your dog. Hiding treats around the house would be the first step, but you could also train your dog to find and get your keys (which would be useful) or train the dog to get you are variety of things. If your dog were trained to get you things, that would help you a lot, e.g. things you've dropped. It also would help your dog to be less bored.

Depending on your injury, you could set yourself up with a wheelchair or similar device and have your friends do most of the "walking", while you tag along to keep her calm.
