Isn't it odd, America, with god on our side and the guaranteed right to bear arms, we still need the most powerful military on Earth?
More than 10 million armed "patriots" and we still need to spend more than the next 13 countries combined.

i do not believe in any god...but i am certain, that with all the faiths...islam..christianity, judaism, hinduism etc, someone is going to be disappointed.
The United States defense budget is too extreme. But it is there for the simple purpose to show our status as a world power to all. That status is very important to many people of the united states and must be kept.We are stationed in over 40 different countries around the world, and our military technology is top notch the best.
But we lack in all the most important areas of our time...healthcare, education and infrastructure, even job creation.

God is on the side of those who keep His commands. We have the right to bear arms to keep the government from becoming too invasive in our lives and to insure our freedoms. We need the military to be as strong as we can possibly afford to protect and defend ourselves and our neighbors. Though Hiroshima and Nagasaki were horrendous that stopped a war that killed millions. Vietnam was our fight against Communism the only problem there was that we did not ask them if they wanted it they did. I believe Iraq was a mixed bag a fight for oil domination and also the security question of weapons of mass destruction.

Every civilization has believed that their gods favored them above all else. What makes you so special? America will fade just as Rome did, just as Mongolia did, just as Great Britain did. And it's still early, we've only been around for 238 years.

We still have to protect ourselves. God is a participatory god, we can pray for his protection, but we still have to act on it. When we pray for something, we are also to actively go after it. God doesn't want us sitting around waiting for him to do our bidding. God is neither a cosmic bellhop or a gumball machine.
