I do NOT understand "The Cloud."?
Like everyone, my computer has an internal MEMORY. And if I want, I can buy additional external MEMORY. Neither of which I will have to pay a monthly fee to use my computer memory. And a PLUS, I know where my computer memory is actually at. In my computer.
Now everyone is going crazy over "The Cloud." Which is an external memory located who-knows-where.' And a PLUS; you have to pay a monthly fee to use 'The Cloud.'
Tell me again why 'The Cloud' is such a fantastic thing?

It's just another good way to backup your files off site.

Well, you seem to not be aware that the Cloud offers a service to people, and a lot of ease and convenience to them. Is this hard to understand?

So you can access the info from your smart phone, tv, desktop pc, notepad. With having it only in one place.
-Say you have Win 8 and you log into a friends computer with your Ms Live account you will see your wallpaper on his computer. The cloud will one day make pc universal dumb terminals.
