Going to an electronic music festival alone?

I'm an 18 year old female, a bit shy, and going to my first ever music festival alone. It's next week already and I really want to go. The thing is I don't have anyone to go with and I'm a bit hesitant to go to my first music festival alone when I haven't been to any concerts/festivals/etc before. Opinions? I don't want to look like the loner in the crowd, I just want to have a great time without the hassle of getting lost and overwhelmed by the crowd.

My first festival was EDC Las Vegas two years ago! I was with friends so it was really fun. Anyway, i've gone to different festivals, last year i went to Utra here in Chicago alone because none of my friends wanted to go. Since then i've been stepping out of my comfort zone and going to shows alone and it's not that bad! Yeah i was worried because i'm also kinda shy, but if you are positive and frind the right people it's fun. There's a lot of people that go alone as well, try walking up to people and introduce yourself. Or you don't have to, i was just there for the music, so once you're watching a set no one is really talking. There's the people that are super PLUR and nice to everybody, the people sharing kandi that are also friendly, then there's always the stuck up people (but you can ignore them). You'll see that you won't be a loner, there's a lot of people walking around alone or people end up getting lost from their group of friends anyway. Just go and half fun, you will meet really cool people! If you don't approach someone they'll be others who will approach you. I know i was sooo nervous when i went to EDC because i had always wanted to go to electronic music festivals but wasn't sure i'd really like going and was very insecure. But you will have a great time, there's people with very different personalities. Hope you have fun! (Btw which festival is it if you don't find me asking)

My advice is don't not to go because electronic music is really not my thing haha

But hey, if you like it you should go. You'll be fine. Don't worry about looking like a loner. Who cares what others will think?

Just enjoy and if you are not having fun you can always leave.

With so many people you might even run into someone you know and have fun with them.

I've been to a few festivals 4 camp biscos and and electric forest, but this year im doing my first one alone! im a bit nervous but i know it will be okay, i already got my ticket and im gonna see my 3 sets of twiddle damn it! haha

any way you'll be fine!! you have to have good attitude and just go and dance and hangout no one will think youre a loner just go and look happy and you'll make friends with your camp neighbors (if youre camping) if not you'll still make friends, bring some weed or paper a bowl, lighter ors water or something like that always helps break the ice when you see someone it need, be like here man i got one and then you start talking and most likely when people here youre there alone they will adopt you into their crew haha.

if u really want 2 go, then GO =)

u'll still enjoy & have a great time & u might even make some friends.

stay away from the mosh pit though....the wall of death can be very dangerous as i learned the hard way recently. its not fun getting your rib cage crushed by 50+ idiots trying to make space inside the wall of death. im fit....but an 18yr old might not be strong enough to be able to push back if they decide to push around.

i saw diplo atrak sander van doorn alone & skrillex & benny benassi w/ a friend.

wear comfortable shoes, if its outdoors wear your sunscreen and sunglasses, leave the hat at home ;)

I think you should go with someone who has been at a festival before, just because its your first time. then you can go alone to other festivals, if you go alone to a festival, something you have never done before, you will be lost and not know what to do
