Something knocked water on to my Mac?

My Mac is under a year old, today I went to the store and came home and my Mac was covered in water. I have no idea how it happened, all I saw was a big puddle from a glass that tipped over right on to the laptop.

I quickly got a washcloth and got all the water off of it and opened it and proceeded to sign on as the backlight of the keyboard started shutting down. It froze and I tried to turn it off but it reset. The screen flickered, and now it's dead.

I have no idea what to do, I don't know what happened and I'm terrified it won't be covered. This Mac is my baby, I treat it so well! It was a gift for college that my whole family chipped in for and I am heart broken! What do I do?

You Mac is destroyed. Buy a new one if you like, but the old one will never work right for long, even when it dries out.

Go to the apple store and ask what you should do. Putting phones in dry rice works so I don't see why it wouldn't on a laptop (:
