Can my employer take money from me as punishment?

I'm a lifeguard so I don't know if the fact that it's a seasonal job will make a difference. Also, they made us sign a paper agreeing to it, but does that make it okay?

If you signed the paper, yes. They can't "make" you sign a piece of paper.

Agreeing to what? What is your question? It makes no sense.

Its called "docking pay" and yes, its legal within the confines of the law. It is limited within reason though. For example, he can't dock your pay for being sick - but he CAN dock your pay for being late, or dressing inappropriately, insubordination etc... within a reasonable amount (normally it is 2-3 hrs pay mostly) but can easily be a whole day for more major offenses.

    "Punishment" for what?

Unless there is a mechanism for you to appeal the "fine", the agreement is not enforceable.
