Only the far right interpretation of "anything that fires a bullet". I don't believe regulation is the enemy of freedom.

    Source(s): Liberal, gun owner.

I do believe the Founders intended for the "right" to keep and bear arms to be interpreted to mean a right extended to each individual citizen, and not merely a "militia". Otherwise, why didn't the emerging State governments try to confiscate firearms from the citizenry "back then" in 1789, or shortly thereafter? They didn't.

But, they should have. I believe the 2nd Amendment was the greatest, and perhaps the only, mistake made by the founders of this Nation. It was, and remains, a really dumb idea. To give uneducated, illiterate, indeed perhaps disturbed, individuals the right to keep their own lethal, high-tech, killing devices is just plain stupid!

I STILL have a bunch of "No Guns In This House" mailbox stickers left over from my 2006 Congressional campaign. NOBODY has ever requested one with the promise to display it.

Absolutely for it. The business that posted a sign saying NO GUNS ALLOWED was robbed two days later. Every lunatic that has shot up a school or theater chose gun free zones to do it. Places where guns are allowed are not targets. It's common sense.

I have a whole closet full of guns in the room with my reloading bench.

I really don't have a problem with the government keeping firearms out of the hands of criminals or dangerously crazy people. I do have a problem with "safety" measures that are meant to be a pain in the rear for the majority of us while doing almost nothing actually to prevent violence, as most of the recent proposals do. The current brouhaha is really about making it so much trouble to have a gun as to make it not worth the hassle. That's morally wrong and a cowardly political method.

First the 2nd amendment isn't just about guns it applies to all arms which could include a 17ft pike but yes I am in favor of it.

I WOULD NOT WANT TO LIVE if my family and I wasn't FREE, OUR government knows WE will NOT get on the boxcars willingly....

DO YOU TRUST THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT?

GUNS don't kill people, people kill people and have done so since the begining of time. WE had Adam and Eve, who had Cane and Abel..... Cane killed Abel in the field and there was a 25% MURDER RATE since the begining of time....
