How to intimidate your daughters boyfriend on their first date? Suggestions?

This seems like a typical movie thing so I am not sure if this is false or true, but if this is true,

You are badass for doing this, and yes you should make him respect you, a good one is if he comes, and you are just there lifting, haha. If theres nothing funny you find out making him respect you, just try being nice to him and if he is not nice back teach him a lesson and frighten him, hehe.

It's all in how you talk. You don't say "Will you please make sure Katie is back by 9" its "My daughter will be back by 9 and don't try anything". You might want to make sure guns are visible in the background and you need to have something in you hand, any thing will do. Then with your other hand you need to give the guy an excessively firm handshake, look him in the eye and say something like "see you at 9".

Capital DO NOT intimidate him, or else you'll come off as harsh. Who wants a bad reputation? Especially from your daughter's boyfriend's parents. What my dad always did was a nicer way of intimidation. Before they go out, sit down and have a talk with him. Simply and subtley tell him that you want him to treat yout daughter with respect, look out for her, and don't do anything dangerous. He'll get the memo. Tell him you want to trust him and you hope they have fun on their date. No need to polish your guns.

You're only going to make it worse on yourself, watch her boyfriend break up with her, because of YOU. And she will hate your guts. Before you start demanding people give respect, why don't you start giving some?

Scaring the sh*t out of your daughter's boyfriends may make them feign respect for you, but it certainly won't gain you any from your daughter

If you want your daughter to date good men, be a good man yourself. That's truly the most any father can do for his little girl
