Need help calculating my current grade and what I need to get an A for Final Grade.?
Need help calculating my current grade with letter grades. What I need to make on Final to get 90 or A? Midterm I got a B- worth 25%, 1 essay A- 15%, 2nd essay B, 15%, Final have taken yet its worth 35%. My teacher told me I just my A for class participation which is 10%
Final grades will be recorded on the following scale: (A 100-90; B+ 89-85; B- 84-80; C+ 79-75; C- 74-70; D 69-60; F 59 ≥).

If lower end of scales are used:
.25*.8 + .15*.9 + .15*.8 + .35*E + .1*.9 >= .9
.35*E >= .355 If lower bounds of grades are used, it is not possible to get an A.
Using upper bounds:
.25*.84 + .15*1 + .15*.84 + .35*E + .1*.1 >= .9
.35*E >= .314
E >= .9 You'll need a 90% on the final if the upper bounds are used in the calculations.
These two scenarios are highly improbable. Your teach will probably give you a grade somewhere in the middle of each range. But basically you need an A to get an A.
