How Much Can I Overclock my Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 2.53Ghz Processor?

I have a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53 Ghz CPU with 1066Mhz FSB and (266 x (6-9.5) Multiplier)

and System RAM is 4GB DDR2 800Mhz (2x2GB DDR2)

So I want to know How Much I can Overclock my CPU? I want to Overclock it to 3Ghz, Can I?

I have a Motherboard Utility software that does let me overclock RAM and CPU Frequencies..

By default my CPU Freq. is 266.5Mhz and whenever i change it ( Increase it) the RAM's Frequency also increases automatically and so is the FSB of CPU...and Voltage stays the same for both RAM(1.80v) and CPU(1.20v)...

So my question is can I Keep the setting? i mean is it normal to increase RAM's frequency along with CPU's? If doing so Am I hurting my RAM or Processor? is it harmful for both?

Voltage stays the same for both and Temperature doesn't increase much (stays btwn 45-60 C)

Kindly Help me guys... I really need to know cuz I'm a gamer and I play games like Battlefield,Crysis,Assassin's Creed etc. so I do need a faster CPU Speed w/o changing the CPU or RAM...

I would think that would be a fairly simple overclock, I have a e5200 I run at 3.75 and an e7500 I run at 4.0. However, it also depends on the options your motherboard give you. Can you only adjust the FSB or can you adjust the multiplyer as well? Can you adjust your ram speed and pci speeds? What about voltage adjustments?

As you turn up the front side bus everything gets faster and that can bring your ram and peripherals out of sync. Some boards will allow you to lock their speed independenly of the FSB and allow better overclocking. Determine the exact capacities of your board. ( If you can't change everything, you may get best results from turning your buss speed up to one of the standard fsb speeds and turning down the multiplyer.)

These things may or may not be necessary for a fairly decent overclock. I was able to hit 3.3 with my e5200 with just fsb adjustments, but it took everything to get it stable at 3.75.

Here is an article from tomshardware specfic to your cpu.

    Good luck.

It's like two in one. While one side of the processor handles some files, the other side of the processor handles the other. This makes the processor run more smooth and efficiently. Because the tasks are shared instead of all the pressure being on one processor. You can always google intel core 2 duo if you want.. or i could be talking about dual core processors.. yeah you better google that..
