Polk County Refuses To Give Me My Title But they charge me Taxes yearly?
11 years ago I bought a 2 bedroom trailer and when I went to get the title in my name they told me that there computer was down but I still had to pay sales tax That Day. for 11 years I have been asking them for my title and they give me the runaround Every Year. I have been paying taxes on a trailer that I can't get the title to from the county. I can't sell this or even scrap it without a title. I am a little late paying this year and they already turned it over to a lawyer to take my home. In my mind if they refuse to give me my title then I do not own it and if I don't own it they why have they made me pay taxes on something that I don't own for 11 years. How can I make them Either Give Me My Title or Give me my money back for them making me pay on something that I don't own. If I own it then how can I FORCE them to Finally give me a Title.

And as you do all ready know property taxes are due each year and the amounts are required to be paid each year to that local tax authority in that area.
And as has been suggested to you might need a lawyer at this time for that purpose.

Do you live in Polk county TX? Did you buy your home prior to June 2003? You may want to read this link if you live in TX cause they haven't issued titles since early 2003. You need a SOL. Click on 'Where do I get a title or SOL' (statement of ownership & location) & 'what is the difference between a title & SOL?' and how to get one if you don't have one.

There are no pieces missing I bought and paid for this and I had a bill of sale and the title transfer paperwork. about 5 years ago I told them that I would not pay taxes on It without My title so the lady at the TAX OFFICE told me to leave my paperwork with them and come back tomorrow. There copy machine was down or so she said. I went back the next day and was told that they LOST the paperwork but they would straighten it out. I either Want my Title or Not pay taxes on this thing ever again. I am sick and tired of paying these corrupt people in Polk County for nothing.

Sounds like YOU need to talk to a lawyer.
