I need a program to capture webcam video...suggestions?

Ok, I drive truck. You would not believe the stupid crap I see drivers doing on a regular basis, and I want to record it to show the family, along with the stunning sunrise/sunsets, etc I see as well. I tried using a dashcam, but it only saves the last hour or so of files.

I have a netbook in the truck with me, I run Overdrive Media on it to play audio books while I am rolling down the road...So I thought I would add a webcam on the dash and use that as a dashcam. Problem is, I cannot find a program that will work similar to the dashcam.

Here is what I MUST have in a program:

- Must work with a relatively slow computer (Intel ATOM Processor, 2 GB Ram, WIN 7)

- Needs to save files in a reasonably small file size. (I want to record 14 hours at a time.)

- Hotkeys would be very nice, so I can reach over and hit 1 key to start/stop recording.

I would LIKE these features:

- saves video in blocks...5-10-15 minute, I don't care what size, but auto saves every X mins.

- hotkey to save current batch (in case of wreck, etc.)

Thanks!

PS, if someone has a recommendation on a good webcam that will do lowlight, drop that in too!

Update:

If it is unclear from my previous information, I cannot be fiddling with the program to make it work, I need to be able to start the program in the morning, then just tap a key to start and stop during the day. Anything much more involved will not work, since this is a tertiary task at best. (Driving being the primary of course!)

Record from a Webcam Using Windows Movie Maker

1.Check your webcam to make sure it's plugged into a USB port if you're using an external camera.

2.Adjust the input volume to maximum.

    3.Open Windows Movie Maker.

4.Start capturing yourself by clicking the "Red/Record" button.

5.The video that you have recorded earlier will be automatically appear on your video timeline.

6.Save your work by clicking "Save Movie" and choose what type of video resolution and size you want.

7.A dialog box will appear to a final step of saving your video.

http://download.cnet.com/Willing-Webcam/3000-2348_... Use time lapse feature and 'Start with Windows' options. The feature records compressed avi files 2Gb. Specify the file recorded amount, because it will overwrite them after reaching the last number. Set 1 second period and day light time for its schedule.
