How would you cosplay a robotic limb?

What's a nice, relatively inexpensive way to disguise an arm so that it looks realistically cybernetic?

Depending on what type of robotic limb your going for, you may want to use something along the lines of making a paper base and cover it with either Fiber glass or paper mache.

I'd probably recommend doing the paper mache idea, seeing you can make a clay-like paper mache pulp with just toilet paper, white glue, water, and flour. The toilet paper can be some very cheap of brand paper, white glue bottles come in larger sizes, and Flour is easy to get at many stores.

If you want, you could replace the toilet paper with some other paper you don't need or any paper up for recycling.
