Please help me identify a skin condition on my dog.?

My dog has a hard bump under to collar line that is about 1/4 in. It looks like it has a white thing in it and is hard to the touch. Cyst? It does not look like a tick. Vet does not open till Monday. He seems fine otherwise. he is a dachshund

Update:

He is 13 YEARS OLD.

That is a little sebaceous cyst. It's a lot like a pimple but don't pop it or it can get badly infected. It will probably just fill back up, too.

It looks like a cyst from here, but no way of anyone here really knowing for sure. Depending on location and growth, a vet may want to take that off, no matter what it is. We sometimes just use a little local injection of lidocaine and either "burn" it off or snip and cautery.

While at the vets, make sure they check all over your dog to find every place possible. We have owners mark them with magic markers if there are too many to remember. Your vet should have little "maps" to mark if there are several. This map gets stuck onto the medical chart.

this could be a cyst, it could be a pimple & it could be cancerous.. for that matter it could be a parasite -- we don't have any way of knowing

it would probably be fine to wait until Monday to see the vet
