Military question?
I have wanted to serve in the Military since I was in the 4th grade. I'm in High School now and still am having a tough time deciding what to do. My father and uncle were in the Air Force and both my grandfathers were in the Army (One was a green beret the other was a load master) And grandfathers before that in WW2. I have a very large History of military family members all the way to the revolution. Anyways I am coming to you guys, (The Veterans and currently serving) to answer my question. I Am joining for 3 main reasons. #1 is because I love my country and want to give back what it has given me (Good home, Wonderful family, and food on the table every night) #2 I want an adventure, I want to travel and have interesting and fun experiences. #3 I want the Pride of serving in the worlds greatest Military, and I want my kids and grandkids to look up to me just like I look up to my father and grandfathers. The thing is, I don't want to join the Air Force of Navy. There are no jobs that I like. I don't want to be some special forces Rangers or anything like that. I am looking at the Army right now. Airborne infantry seems to draw me to it. I've read all the books and such and done research. My question is what type of person join infantry? I'm not a mean person. I think a lot and worry about what others think about me. I know when its a joke and not, but is Airborne Infantry for me? I don't want to join to kill. You saw my reason. Im confused on whether I would fit in with them

What makes you think infantry guys are mean. Most are really nice guys. People just like you join infantry and airborne. But don't go into the military thinking it will be nonstop action. Just the opposite with the war ending.

Infantry will be hard on you during training but once you graduate from training the camaraderie is like no other , you need to think of the reality of the job , you will be sent into war zones . being shot at most of the time , and possibly get killed , and kill people. If thats what you want to do then do it. :)

Do what you want, and not what others want of you...that way you can make decisions for yourself and not worry about what others thing. Good luck!
