Switched wifi network at home, now my iPhone can't send imessages?

My parents had Comcast come out the other day and fix our wifi since it wasn't working on my mom's Kindle. In the process we switched from one wifi network to another. It works on my laptop and my iPhone just fine, but for some reason whenever I try to send an imessage (to someone that should be able to receive them) it doesn't work, and I didn't have this problem before the wifi got changed. The wifi works on my phone though so how do I fix this?

On your IPhone, fully delete the network settings for your  parent's Wifi network.  Now let the iPhone rediscover your changed home Wifi network and enter the correct WEP key or security key or passphrase (may not be called WEP if your new router uses newer or faster modes of Wifi). The Comcast guy should have left the current network name and key/passphrase on a piece of paper or on the bottom of the router.

NOTE - Even if the network name and key/passphrase is identical to your old settings, some devices will not connect with their old settings because something about the connection changed (like they swapped routers or are now using a different type of WIfi). That is why you need to first fully delete the iPhone's Wifi settings for your home network, then let the iPhone re-find the home Wifi network, and then re-enter the key/passphrase.

If that doesn't make your messaging work... If you mean some kind of Yahoo messaging... did you change your Yahoo password?  if you did, then you also have to change the Yahoo password on your phone (in Yahoo app or in your IPhone's email settings or both - anything that uses Yahoo needs to have the same password that you set at Yahoo.com)

If you are talking about phone text messaging, I don't think that uses Wifi at all, just cell signal.
