How seriously do you take the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?

Seems like a lot of people don't, do you?

There is plenty to criticize, but I don't really concern myself with it. They tend to ignore many of the contemporaries of rock and roll (like, the black 50s musicians who invented the genre), they tend to totally ignore entire subgenres of rock, such as prog rock, it seems to be primarily based on the subjective tastes of the small number of judges who elect them and vote on it, and I strongly suspect that they will be dickriding the 60s, 70s, and 80s bands for quite a long time. Next year, bands who had their first album in 1990 will be eligible, but I don't expect there to be lots of 90s bands in anytime soon. There are bands credited with inventing entire genres of music that aren't in who are eligible, and there's too many non-rock groups in.

I don't take the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame very seriously. After all, Rush did not get into the R&R Hall of Fame until 2013!! Additionally, influential bands such as The Cure, The Smiths, Joy Division & New Order are not in the Hall of Fame, for some reason.

Furthermore, the Hall of Fame has a big bias against progressive rock; King Crimson isn't even in the R&R Hall of Fame. Additionally, bands such as Yes & Genesis don't have a spot in the Hall of Fame. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is a big, fat joke, in general.

I've never been there, only listen to a few bands who were inducted, it's meh.

I don't really get it anyway, they inducted any band or artist who helped in the formative years of rock (50's - 70's) and then after that gets stuck on dumb chart music, rock evolved into metal and punk and stuff, it really should have stuck to basics, so Meshuggah, Opeth, Dillinger Escape Plan, Sikth, Ihsahn, Borknagar, etc should all be inducted, I mean, if I gave a crap, which I don't.

A waste of time.Always was.Just another excuse to party.

Marvellous when Alex Lifeson mocked it last time out.

His "blah blah" speech had serious undertones.
