In regards to trespassing and citezens arrest.?

I was wondering if it was legal for myself to place an individual under citezens arrest in the state of california if I am given permission by the property owner to do so, additionally I was wondering if an altercation took place could I charge said trespasser with assault regardless of whether or not it is on my property if I took part in the altercation in self defense ... I am a minor (17). And say the perp is a minor as well same age. What is the procedure for police? And would the california state penal code 837 allow myself to do this.

Thank you in advance

As you can see by reading Pen C 837, there is no age limit upon making a citizen's arrest if you see a crime being committed in your presence. However, you should be aware that the trespassing laws in California are very technical, and if you guess wrong you could be liable for making an illegal arrest. I would recommend you just call the police, which you would have to do after making an arrest anyway.

If you're a minor, you can't do anything.
