Are there any window companies that do not try and pressure you into buying there and then?
Every quote I have had has started at around 6 grand,then they suddenly bring it down to 2 grand when you say its too much, If you buy now. Bloody Pirates.

measure each window, go to wickes and fit them yourself, so easy 2 screws each side then expending foam for the gaps, then glue in the trim, simple, save a fortune.

I don't know where you are located but I had the same problem. I live in Massachusetts and the first quote I got for 16 windows was $17000. I found a local contractor who used Harvey Industries replacement windows and had the job done for less then $5000.

Find a local company - as letting agents we have two we use on a regular basis and they generally come in within a few pounds of each other - handy for when things need fixing too!
