My windows 8.1 computer is running slow, i have done a system recovery on it?
This did not fix the problem, does anyone have any ideas on how to speed up my computer. I have Macafee security and wise cleaner installed

No additional programs are needed. You may not know it, but every time you boot up your computer, you have programs running in the background. Open the Task Manager. In the Startup tab, all of those programs listed are running. Disable all the ones you do not need, but do not disable anything like a virus protection software. Those must stay running at all times. Do this, and I show you your computer will run faster instantly.

control panel> System and security> Advanced security options. This will open a window. choose advanced tab and click the performance settings. Again go to advanced tab and click the change button. uncheck auto manage paging and click the custom size button. change both fields to recommended number listed below the inserts for typing. apply settings and restart

okay this shutsdown any unwanted malware on your PC follow these steps
1. open Note pad
2. paste this in "shutdown -s -t 45"
3. save it as "portshutdown.bat" and save to your desktop
4. open it
