Texans camp report: Fitzpatrick regressing, Keenum improving.?
Fitzpatrick has been an interception machine so far during camp. Fitz almost threw a pick 6 yesterday under throwing a WR (WR broke interception up). under threw a WR leading to a pick, didn't read the defense which led to pick, throwing at WRs feet, overthrowing TEs leading to a pick. Keenum has been improving. Keenum has read the defense and has made the right adjustments, throwing great back shoulder passes, throwing TDs. With each day that passes, Fitz seems to be getting more inconsistent and Keenum seems to be improving a lot. It won't be too much longer before Fitzpatrick drops to #2 on the depth chart and Keenum moves up to #1.
I'm sticking by my bold prediction from a few months ago that Keenum would win the starting job during preseason.
Still a LONG way until week 1, so we'll see what happens.

You're right about it being early in camp. But you might also be right about Keenum. Only time will tell. Fitzpatrick has had some success as a starter, but it hasn't lasted through a full season. The Texans have enough talent to be better this year, but may not be a contender for a playoff spot again. It's a shame with all the talent on the team.

I agree with you about Case Keenum winning the starting quarterback position for the Houston Texans. After what happened last season, this should seem like a no-brainer. There is very little reward for the Texans by starting Ryan Fitzpatrick. Let's face it, Fitzpatrick has zero chance of being a long-term solution for the Texans. Also, if Fitzpatrick struggles out of the gate, the Texans will be at the same crossroad they were last season, and they will be forced to start Keenum.
If the Texans were smart, they should start Keenum from day one, and be patient. Sure, Keenum may struggle at times, but those growing pains will be all worth it.

I have been saying this before and I'll say it again, I do believe Keenum should be the starting QB for Houston

Sounds like you just made all that up. If you're going to fabricate stories at least make them like THE COACH's.
