A puff of white smoke when I start my 1998 Toyota Camry. What does this mean?
I just recently got a new engine put into my 98 Toyota Camry because there was blue and white smoke coming out of the muffler and the engine was knocking.
Its only been about 3 days since I got it back and it drives good but the car is still smoking but only when it sits for a long time, like when I start it in the morning there's a big puff of white smoke that comes out and that's it. What does it mean?

You said a "new" engine. Did you mean a used engine? If it is used then it would tell me the valve guides are worn and oil is leaking down then when it sits. The oil will leak when it is running also but that oil will be burnt up slowly and not allowed to pool like it can when it sits overnight. If it is a new engine then take it back for warranty.

well this can mean oil is still getting into the cylinder. It could be that the headgasket,or pistion rings was put wrong or worn. Hope is the gasket and check to see if your oil and water is mixing or any kind of sweat bettween the engine block. hit me back if you have more questions
