Using AOMEI Backupper to create an image file?

Okay so my computer does not have an image file, or the install.wim as the smarter people call it. I'm currently using AOMEI Backupper tool to do a backup of my computer and create a image file so that I can refresh my computer because it has been acting weird lately, but the problem is I'm not very sure how this is going to work out. After this backup is done where do i put the file so that my refresh pc option becomes available without the need of the installation CD or Restore Media because that was originally my issue since i do not have either one of those. So can anyone help. Preferably someone who has done this before. And I am running on Windows 8.

Why don't you use the built in microsoft tools? See Control Panel->Backup and Restore->Create System Image? You can write it to networked storage or a USB drive, or DVD.

Create a Windows Recovery CD so you can recover your OS if you need to, then you can restore the system image to bring things back to where they were when you created the backup image.
