Can scratches on vinyl records be removed?
I have four old records I want to sell, but one of them--the Beatles' first record--has a scratch on one side. Someone told me such things can be fixed, or removed. Is that true; if so, how, or where?

Do not recommend transferring the music to CDs, as I only want to sell these items.
If there's nothing I can do--so be it.

Scratches can not be removed from a record. However some turntable systems are more or less sensitive to some types of scratch. If the scratch is in the form of an audible "tick", then there is nothing that can be done.
Simply indicate when selling the record that is has a known scratch, and explain how it is heard. Many audiophiles and collectors have tricks and devices to work around this - so the record isn't junk, just a bit less valuable.

You cannot repair scratches on vinyl records. Sure you can record them and with the right equipment get them to play before digitally removing the sound of the scratches but that's exactly not what you wanted.
