    It is not legal. You could end up in Jail and labeled a sex offender.

    There are no laws in any state that regulate the ages of people involved in non-sexual, social dating. Age of consent laws only cover sexual activity.

    There are no laws on dating. Anyone can date anyone of any age in any state. The are laws for sex. The 17 year old's parents can refuse to let him see you until he is 18 however.

    Yes, and the age of consent in Illinois is also 17. So not only could they date but they could also sleep together.
