what temperature should my water be set for?

I have oil heat and my water has always been really hot. I just learned that my water is set at 180F. Someone told me that it was supposed to be set at 120F. How do I lower the temp? Everything on the internet seems to be all about gas water heaters with no info for oil heat. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Look on the side of your boiler. There will be a small box that is called an aqua stat This sets the water temp and has a dial with temp settings that you can adjust with a small screwdriver..

Yeah 180 is way to hot! There should be a temperature control that you can turn or a mixing valve that you can adjust

Just over 70 centigrade. will not burn in a shower or dishes washing

You should call a professional to deal with it.
