Catholics: Does Mary, Mother of God have equal status to Jesus?
When we sing the opening verse of "Immaculate Mary"
Immaculate Mary, thy praises we sing;
Who reignest in splendor with Jesus our King.
Ave, ave, ave, Maria! Ave, ave, Maria! does that mean that Mary is equal in sovereignty to Christ?

<<Catholics: Does Mary, Mother of God have equal status to Jesus?>>
NO.. this is very clear in the Catholic Mass, Catholic Catechism, and in the Bible.
Mary is not even a demigod.
The Catholic faith DOES shower her with honor and titles, but that in no way makes her equal to Christ.

NO.. it is stating a simple FACT of reality.
She reigns in splendor - that doesn't mean she is God or equal to her son, Jesus Christ.
It reflects a very ancient model of the monarchy.
Kings often had multiple wives, but only 1 mother. So the Queen was the title of the mother or the King, often times.
The Bible says that Christ is the King of Heaven -- this would logically make Mary?...(see where I am goin' with this?)....the?.......
QUEEN of heaven.
Now the King's mother, the Queen had a very high status but she was NOT equal to the King. So Mary being the queen, doesn't make her a god. Doesn't make her equal to the King.
But it does make her the Queen.
And so the song uses poetic verse to say that Mark reigns in splendor with her Son, who is the King.
Think of it like 2 separate thoughts.
1) Mary is in Heaven as the queen, by the side of her Son.
2) Her son is the King.
Again, in ancient or medieval culture - the Queen was NOT the ruler, just the mother of the King.

Not at all. Jesus is God, so Mary is his mother. It's a logical syllogism that cannot be denied. I don't understand why some Protestants are offended to call Mary the Mother of God, it is as almost if they are saying Jesus wasn't God so therefore Mary cannot be his mother.
Mary is mother of Jesus.
Jesus is God
Mary=Mother of God
All of the apostles visited and talked with Mary frequently after the resurrection. Mary was the mother of all the apostles and of Jesus.

Mary like all the billions of humans was born from Adam's fallen race, as an ex-Catholic, I lived this lie, for most of my life, and I reject it now that I am a grand parent.
Similar to all young girls, she was a Virgin.
Unlike all young girls, she was chosen by God, based on her holy line and holy life, to be overshadowed by the power of God, to bring forth Jesus the Saviour of the world.
Mary was not sinless, but she was a vessel or tool for God.
Based on holiness, and obedience and family line, by God.
After she had Jesus, she lived a normal family life, with Joseph and her at least six or seven children, all half-siblings of our Lord Jesus, and even James aka James the Just, the author of the book of James, did not recognize Jesus or acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God, until later, but not while Jesus was alive.
In Jesus name.

The Honor bestowed on The Blessed Virgin is an honor that comes through her son.
Many overlook that Jesus is her son.

The trinity is a manmade doctrine with no Scriptual Truth. Only those serving and worshiping God in spirit and truth will see God's Kingdom. Jesus is not God.

Mary is not the mother of God. She gave birth to Jesus the son of God. Mary has not power at all. She did on earth what God had her to do that that is that.

Nope. She has status of hyperdulia. God has status of latria. Quite different.

No because Jesus is God = the trinity
